Backgammon is complex, doubling in money games is difficult and adjusting doubling decisions based on the score is incredibly hard! Simon’s book teaches you to understand the intricacies of doubling at different match scores. The power of Simon’s book is that he teaches you a system that allows you to easily learn the correct cube action at different scores, most importantly by simplifying the process Simon teaches you a system that you will be able to recall even if you are under pressure in a tournament match.
The book is great value for money as it is only equivalent to the cost of one lesson with a backgammon pro and yet the book will be a vital reference for years to come.
The book is written in a very clear and easy to understand style and I would recommend it to aspiring Intermediate players as well as Master players.

Backgammon: the 7 point match is a book any serious bg player needs on his or her book shelf.
Simon is an accomplished Grandmaster, but also turns out be really qualified to explain all the intricacies of match play.
In a lucid style and the use of a helpful colour scheme Simon deals with all the tricky situations.
Without making use of excessive math or arithmetic, it becomes clear how you should use the cube effectively at particular scores. Both from the takepoint of the leader or trailer and doubling or taking.
Having won my share of tournaments( albeit 3 decades ago), I still wish I had known all this all along.
